Plaintiff Chen (female) and defendant Li (male) registered their marriage on 2020/5/20. After the marriage, defendant Li repeatedly committed domestic violence against plaintiff Chen due to trivial daily matters, including beating, verbal abuse, and intimidation. Plaintiff Chen filed police reports multiple times, prompting law enforcement intervention on several occasions. Defendant Li also issued written guarantees promising to stop the violence, yet continued to reoffend despite repeated warnings. In 2024/3, defendant Li again beat plaintiff Chen, causing injuries to multiple parts of her body. A forensic medical evaluation classified the injuries as minor. Consequently, plaintiff Chen filed a lawsuit requesting divorce from defendant Li and compensation for emotional distress in the amount of 10 ten-thousand yuan.

The court ruled to grant the divorce between plaintiff Chen and defendant Li. Defendant Li shall pay plaintiff Chen mental distress damages of 10 ten thousand yuan within ten days from the effective date of the judgment. Defendant Li shall bear all litigation costs and judicial appraisal fees for this case.
